Initiator and founder of the Zeeuwse Aquarellisten Joke Klootwijk, lives since 2007 in Middelburg, Zeeland the Netherlands. Before she lived her whole life in the west of the country on the outskirts of Rotterdam. Since 1995, she paints in watercolor and which remains her passion.
Looking for fellow watercolorists in Zeeland is it so far Mattie Brown (illustrator) encountered at a unique way with watercolor in progress. The watercolor technique can be used in many ways, that is just so exciting .
Joke and Mattie sharing, the passion for watercolor painting and the pursuit of excellence in both painting and in presenting their work.
Perhaps in future more watercolorists from Zeeland added, so that together as a beautiful exhibition Watercolourists Zeeland may take. But it is certain that they inspire each others.
In the weekend of October 2 and 3, 2010 was the Art Route Barendrecht. My exhibition was in the watertower of Barendrecht. I showed a number of watercolours, oils and pastels.
The weather was beautiful, the organization was perfect, the visitors were all very nice and cheerful, the location was unique (wedding hall Barendrecht water tower), what does an artist more!

During the Yearly Art and Culture Route Barendrecht on October 2 and 3, 2010 I am a exhibitor at the Watertower in the Dorpsstraat 152, in Barendrecht the Netherlands.
This year marks the 10 anniversary of the ArtRoute Barendrecht. There is an exhibition of all the members of the ArtRoute in the Townhall of Barendrecht, where you can make a choice which artists you want to visit. This exhibition will be held from September 22, 2010 till October 1, 2010.
Open during normal business hours.
My exhibition adress during the Art Route Barendrecht is: the Watertower in the Dorpsstraat 152, in Barendrecht the Netherlands a Landmark in the city Barendrecht.
The water tower in Barendrecht, designed by architect Roelof Kuipers and was built in 1912. The water tower of Heerenveen is almost identical. The tower has monument status. The wedding hall was later built the tower.
The water tower has height of 36 meters and a water tank of 120 m3.
Since 1981 the tower is no longer in use as a water tower.
